From 1951 until 1991:
Sources of origin of AS “Ceļuprojekts” can be traced back to 1951, when a group of three people (engineers R.Eglītis, H.Nartišs and technician M. Bruskina) was formed for maintenance of the all-union roads, and to 1955, when the Road Administration Group of the Ministry was established in Tukums for maintenance of roads of national significance (engineers G. Binde, R. Jagare and technician V.Žvīgure).
In the course of rearrangement of the subordination of the roads existing in the territory of the republic, in 1956, both designing groups merged and established the Road Administration designing group, which was supplemented to include 19 employees.
This group, later consisting of over half a hundred employees, served as the basis for the Latvian State Institute of Designing of Motorway and Transport Companies “Latdoravtoprojekt” established on June 2, 1958.
In 1965, the name of the institute was changed: “The Institute of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Latvian SSR “Latgiprodortrans””, but in 1984, for the first time, the Latvian name “The Institute of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Latvian SSR “Ceļuprojekts”” was announced. During the busiest time of the road construction, in the 60-70s of the 20th century, around 200 engineers of “Ceļuprojekts” created designs for thousands of kilometers of the Latvian roads, many traffic junctions, bridges, depots of the road construction organisations, building material extraction and processing companies and other objects, which, being the national wealth of the Latvian transport infrastructure, still exude confidence and strength of the engineering thought of “Ceļuprojekts” wanderers.
From 1991 until present:
In 1991, the institute was privatized by its employees, establishing a designing consulting company – joint-stock company "Ceļuprojekts". A new period in the history of the company began, which opened up new opportunities for sustainable development. Currently, “Ceļuprojekts” is an independent, one of the leading Latvian companies in the designing of road and transport structures. Highly qualified engineers ensure quality of services using their experience, the latest and most advanced knowledge in the road industry and modern designing and research techniques.
