The bridge is an architectural monument of local significance \"Bridge over Riju brook\", included in the territory of the architectural monument of national significance Skaistkalne Manor and is a part of it. The bridge was built in the end of 19th century \u2013 beginning of. At the end of the 19th - 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bridge was built as a continuous one span stone arch bridge crossing the brook at an angle of 90\u02da. The total width of the bridge ranges from 9,.11 m to 9,.21 m, the total length 10,.52 m. The carriageway is 5,.0 m wide, surfaced with asphalt concrete. The lower part of the bridge (side walls of the vault and bottom of the portal) is made of good quality dolomitic stone. Clay bricks measuring 20x12x6 cm were used for the upper part of the vault and the portal, as well as for the railing posts. The bridge vault is a regular semicircularsemi-circular arch, the side walls of which have a very slight downward taper. The height of the arch is 2,.45 m, the average width 1.,6 m. The thickness of the vault is 0,.5 m. As part of the rebuilding reconstruction work, a reinforced concrete slab with retaining walls was built above the vault to reduce the load on the existing vault structure. The newly constructed visible surfaces are finished with clay bricks, similar materials to the existing structure; the remaining visible surfaces are repaired to ensure their long-term durability.<\/p>\n
